Now it's off to Dulles, on to LAX and hopefully in the door later tonight. We'll have news of our return when we get there. Wish us luck with the airlines, as there's weather on the East Coast today...

The news that Jen and I have been anxiously waiting for has come...we're out of here! At this writing, we're about an hour or so from being discharged, Jen has everything disconnected and she has normal clothes on for the first time in a two and a half weeks (I dare anyone to contemplate the thought of wearing one of those hospital robes for 16 days).

Dear Dave and Jen -
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! Presumably you are there by now, enjoying a wonderful family reunion! I came across some scribbling in the margins of my Bible in Habukkuk chap 3, that I'm pretty sure I wrote there after hearing it from David Jeremiah (Turning Point Ministries) - either on the radio or online. Anyway, I thought that Jen might find encouragement with his instruction. In Chap 3, vs 17-19, Habukkuk basically says that even if he encounters tremendously difficult trials, he has ALREADY decided that he WILL STILL rejoice in the Lord, and look to Him for his strength. And what David Jeremiah commented was, "When I can't see God in my problems, I will discover Him in my praise." So I'm thinking, for Jen, that during her continued recovery if life gets tough, and she longs for the physical freedom to do all the fun things represented by the pictures on this blog, but that "freedom" isn't coming fast enough, then, wait on the Lord, and discover him in your praise. And along the way, we'll keep prayin'. :-)
Welcome home Jen and Dave. I'm so glad everything went so well. I've just been reading the blog and have to say, "Dave you are soooo good". I just love the way you have written it all down so artfully. I'm still praying for you Jen and always will be.

Hi David and Jen --
ReplyDeleteYou don't know me, but the Blooms do. And the Sugarbakers know me all too well. I had the surgery by Dr. Sugarbaker in 2005, fought my insurer, and have been writing appeals ever since.
Glad to hear that you are doing so well. Another member of the Sugarbaker West Coast Alumni Club!
I don't see any major insurance trouble on your blog. Any chance that you would let me know who is your insurer, so that you can help others by being on my famous Precedent List?
I am fighting a fierce case with Anthem just now ...
Feel free to call (425 497-1858) or email (laurie (at) theinsurancewarrior (dot) com.
Best to you,
